Marble – Identity

May 25th, 2011
Visual identity for record label Marble. A logotype and a set of tools for creating record covers were made. The tools consists of three parts: 1) A series of patterns used as frames around the artwork. 2) A set of labels showing artist, title and release information. The labels have set typography, while the shape of the label changes between releases. 3) A set of graphic symbols. These symbols are used to complement the logo on the artwork and in any other media the logo is present. These three parts are combined with the artwork and together creates a recognizable and flexible concept. 2011 Example of concept in use on MRBL001 (artwork by Rimo), MRBL002 (artwork by Jonathan Zawada), MRBL011 (artwork by Romain Bernardie James) and MRBL012 (artwork by Trevor Winkfield).

I like my city – Posters

January 13th, 2011
Three posters made for the "I like my City" show in Pau, France. Curated by Medium. 2010 "I like my town, but I can’t say exactly what I like about it. I don’t think it’s the smell. I’m too accustomed to the monuments to want to look at them. I like certain lights, a few bridges, café terraces. I love passing through a place I haven’t seen for a long time." Georges Perec, Species of Spaces and Other Pieces. One reference point for the project is this quote by the french writer Georges Perec. His fascination with the apparently trivial details of everyday life – the infra-ordinary, offers an approach for experiencing our quotidian environments in new ways. Contrary to the spectacle of the tourist, familiarity of a place allows new understandings and readings, by focusing on detail rather than the whole. The posters show a selection of research photographs all taken during the past 12 months in my hometown: Stockholm. The images are close-up studies of structure and colour. Font: MS Rotatus, an experimental rotating font. Each letter typed rotates 45 degrees clockwise. Based on a version of Futura Ultra Condensed by Museum Studio.
